Many people collect the sales flyers for their pinball machines. These colorful flyers were originally mailed and passed out by pinball distributors to try and sell the game to their customers.
One neat aspect of game flyers is the fact that the photos are from the earliest samples of the games. If your machine matches a flyer exactly, chances are, you own a early production or prototype machine. If you look at the back side of the full sized F-14 Tomcat flyer, you see many of the clear flasher domes at the rear of the playfield, which were replaced with red domes due to the amount of light the clear domes allowed to flash. You will also notice the center beacon is clear - on later model F-14 Tomcats, the dome became a bit milkier. The red stripes are also totally missing on the cabinet of the game. If you see any other differences, e-mail me - I'm interested.
